The Beatles' entire back catalogue has been made available to buy digitally for the first time, with individual tracks being sold for 25 cents each.

US-based download site BlueBeat.com is selling the tracks – which include The Beatles' recently released remastered albums – and also streaming them online for users to listen to as many times as they like for free.

However, it is unclear whether EMI and Apple Corps – who must give permission for The Beatles' music to be sold online – have agreed to let the website distribute the tracks.

It has long been rumoured that The Beatles music will be made available to buy on iTunes, but a deal between the band, their representatives and the download store is yet to be finalised.

A spokesperson for Apple Corps reportedly told Wired.com that she didn't think BlueBeat.com had permission to sell The Beatles' music.

BlueBeat.com is also selling songs by AC/DC, another band known to have not issued their material digitally before.
